At Lyons Computers, we have developed a procedure for removing viruses from your desktop or your laptop computer. We use three utilities as well as an anti-virus program to complete the removal. In the most severe cases, we have to salvage your files, format the drive, and reinstall the Windows operating system, reinstall the hardware drivers, run the Windows updates, install a CD burning program and a DVD playing program, plus we install an anti-virus program and an anti-malware program. We recommend using the AVG Free edition anti-virus program, as it has a link scanner to check the links you see after a search on the Internet. We have found the links you click after a search on the Internet are a major cause of the recent rash of infections. Clicking the search result link opens a web page which could itself be infected.
