 B.W. Lyons Guitars became a business from the need to dispose of several guitars in my cousin’s estate.  The cleanest ones  were sold first, then as repairs were needed on the others, the experience and knowledge of how to repair the guitars was gained.  Eventually, I began repairing them, and even assembling electric guitars.  I do provide a custom-built electric guitar in a variety of styles, colors, and components.













I have been building a guitar to give away as a prize at the 2011 Wichita Falls Guitar Show.  Along with the Iron Horse Pub, also in Wichita Falls, we will have a contest based upon each contestant's ability to sing and to play a guitar.  The details of the contest are available at the Iron Horse Pub.    This contest is a part of their open mike presentation held on Wednesday nights.  There will be a number of nights for the contest, with finalists determined at the Iron Horse.  The finals will be held at the 2011 Wichita Falls Guitar Show.  The guitar will be presented to the winner at the finals.  I have named this guitar a Model "AG."   "AG" in this case stands for "Altered Guitar."  "AG" are also my dad's initials, and since I built this one using a number of his tools, I thought it would be fitting to use those initials for this guitar.  Here are a few pictures taken during construction:
 

 


The guitar has Planet Wave tuning machines, heavy duty switches, Tradition pickups, and has been setup for play.  The front strap button has been moved to the top horn, instead of behind the neck, to improve the balance of the guitar.
